How to get to Graz

Travelling from Graz Airport to Graz

 

Bus & Train

You can travel easily to and from Graz Airport by bus or train.

Buses

Public buses (Nr. 630, 631) bring you conveniently from Graz Airport to Graz main station or Jakominiplatz. The bus stop is outside the passenger terminal, right next to the arrival area. The price for a one-way trip is EURO 2.20.

Train

The train station “Flughafen Graz/Feldkirchen” (S-Bahn-number S5) is approximately 300 m and only a few minutes from the terminal. Please buy a ticket before starting your journey at a ticket vending machine or a ticket office, as it is mandatory to have a valid ticket on all local lines.

Travelling from Vienna Airport to Graz

 

Train

Once you have arrived in the arrivals hall from the baggage claim area, please keep right. Use the exit on level -1 to the railway station and follow the signs to the station.

 

The CAT and the ÖBB ticket counter can also be found in the arrivals hall directly by the exit to level -Ticket machines are located in the arrivals hall, the passages to the platforms and on the platforms. The path from the arrivals hall to the platforms is equipped with ramps and lifts for travelers with special needs.

Bus

The bus station is in front of the Arrivals hall. You can use any of the exits. Buses to Graz (Flixbus or Dr. Richard) leave from the bus stop number 06. You can get off at “Graz Murpark Ostbahnstraße”, where you have a connection to the train nr. S3 which brings you to the main train station or the tram Nr. 4 which brings you right to the city center. For further connections please check: http://www.busbahnbim.at (for buses and trams).

Those who stay in “Hotel Gollner” preferably get off the bus at “Graz Girardigasse Thalia”as the hotel is about 230 m walking distance from the bus stop.

You should buy your train ticket before boarding the train. Tickets (first or second class) are available at ticket vending machines or ticket offices and can also be purchased online   http://www.oebb.at/en/.

There is a charge for using Austrian motorways and expressways. A ‘vignette’ toll sticker must be bought for all vehicles of up to 3.5 tons maximum permitted total weight – cars, motorbikes and light campervans are required to display a vignette.

Apart from the general compulsory vignette on motorways and expressways, in Austria there are also “special toll routes”. The special toll can either be paid on the spot or by buying a video toll ticket in advance. The general compulsory vignette is not required on these special toll routes.

Parking your car in Graz (https://www.graztourismus.at/en/travel-and-transport/parking)

 

For the parking availabilities at hotels, please check the hotels´ homepages. If your hotel offers parking at a reasonable rate, it is advisable to leave your car there, as parking fees are charged throughout the Graz city centre and you can get around the city center by public transport easily.

 

Short-term parking zones (Blue and green zones)

Short- term parking zones are indicated with traffic signs and floor markings at all entrances and exits.

 

Blue Zone

Parking in the blue zone is limited to a maximum of 3 hours and subject to charges. Parking tickets can be bought at the parking ticket machines in the zones. A max. 10-minute free-of-charge stop is allowed. Parking charges apply on working days from 9am to 8pm, Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. At the main railway station parking charges apply every day from 8am to 10pm. Zone rate: € 0.90 per ½ hour

Green Zone

The green zones are car parking spaces that are subject to charges, which apply on working days, Monday to Friday from 9am to 8pm. Saturday is free of charge. Zone rate: € 0.60 per 1/2 hour
